Embassy Delay

The plan was to meet at the Canadian Embassy today to begin processing the paperwork for our girls to enter Canada. We took a cab across town, only to find the officials were not there. They had all gone off to attend an emergency meeting about swine flu. 3 families returned to the hotel, but Kathy, Macy and I stayed with another family. We had wanted to do a bit of sightseeing, but the Ho Chi Minh Mauseleum was closed. We ended up at the Somerset hotel for a late lunch/early supper. Macy was awake and alert for most of the day. She is really starting to come out of her shell. If she is not tired she will chatter away, clap her hands, play paddy cake, blow kisses and she is starting to blow raspberries. She still is solemn at times but smiles much easier and more often than yesterday. She doesn't really want me out of her site, which is good. She is eating well, and even had a tiny bit of Kathy's hamburg meat today. So far watermelon is her favourite new food.
We're trying to figure out when we want to go to HaLong Bay, we want to spend a day or 2 there and see the area.
We plan on a quiet evening, well, we'll see what Macy has planned.........

I agree with Lea... darn swine flu! Let us know how Halong Bay goes.
Glad to hear she's learning important things, like how to blow raspberries!
